MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2010 Final Screening Interview PART 2
How important is the interview round in beauty pageants these days? Well, there was a time when it was given top priority with the more 'deserving' winners going home almost empty-handed settling for mere 'special awards' ... But what does it take to be a very good conversationalist really? Spontaneity while trusting your instinct in the things you're about to say? Good command of the English language with a 'twang'? Knowledgable on the current and relevant issues around you? Or just plain witty like Miss Universe '69 Gloria Diaz? Whatever it is, Scribbleworks' Ms. Tati Fortuna, franchise holder of this year's Mutya ng Pilipinas shows us how.. just listen to her speak - on the spot, along with Mutya candidate, well-travelled Batangueña Suzette Hernandez.. and you'd be amazed .... Meanwhile, another smart candidate from Puerto Princesa, Cindy Maduma in this interview proves to us that 'it's not WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it!' Mabuhay Beauties would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Mutya ng Pilipinas organizers headed by Mr. Roberto de Venecia and Ms. Tati Fortuna of Scribbleworks, the new franchise holder of the national pageant; Sam dela Cruz (PR); the Screening Committee headed by Ms. Tati herself, Sam, Hemilyn Escudero; Special thanks to Ms. Nimki Hameed; and again, good friend Noli Berioso of OPMB for the stills and for tirelessly and graciously taking the time out to interview the candidates. Everyone was anxious to see 'her' after the Tempest as well as the rest of the Bb. Pilipinas' current and past winners at the annual Araneta Grand Santacruzan '10 in Cubao, QC held last May 22nd. 'Her' fans and supporters were not disappointed, for she was at 'her' lovely best, and thus, delivered what was expected of 'her'.. (curiously though 'she' wasn't this year's Reyna Elena). Meanwhile, Miss Universe of 1969 was the finale number of the Marian procession as Reyna Emperatriz, who almost but not quite, stole the spotlight from 'her'. Indicative, classic, and elegant in every aspect of Filipina dress, the enduring terno will live on and on as the most unique Philippine national costume for women proudly representing our country, together with the barong tagalog for men. Nothing wrong with the Ifugao, Muslim etal but for the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines, us included, this should be the only national attire ought to be worn by any Miss Philippines here and abroad, for it is distinctly Filipino, and to prove that, through the years, the annual Flores de Mayo has become the stage to showcase the beauty of the terno, sharing stellar honors with the grace and beauty of the Filipino woman. Former Misses Philippines Earth, finalists and candidates come up with strong performances as they lend support to the lead cast of the Eco-Tourism movie, Project Noel...
Project Noel, a noble and very awe-inspiring film of a young boy who tries to save his own little "world" in his own little way, providing the correlation between his story and how we could all do our part to rebuild our only planet. Excellent performances by the cast who are actually not professional actors (save for 2) but former Miss Philippines Earth titlists and runners-up, Mutya winners themselves. Congratulations, Carousel for this noteworthy cause. ***Also, be sure to check out its corresponding Photo Gallery by clicking HERE
Sisters, fresh faces, repeaters, sisters (did we just say sisters twice? :)) greet the media for the first time...
Gabrielle "Gabbie" Cabrera (left), younger sis of BB. PILIPINAS UNIVERSE 2005 Gionna Cabrera and Gwennaelle "Gwenna" Ruais, elder sis of BB. PILIPINAS 2010 semifinalist Gwendolyn Ruais pose for the cameras during the premiere of Carousel Production's Project Noel, a documentary film on environmental awareness as well as to serve as a wakeup call to all of us, the global society, being the problem and how we can in turn, be the solution to the problem itself. The red carpet was rolled out for the 2010 MISS PHILIPPINES EARTH Beauty Pageant Official Candidates though the girls took the back seat for a moment to give way for digital film premiere as the main event of the evening, the first in the long line-up of the pageant's events and countless activities.
Back with a vengeance!!!!
Gwennaelle Ruais, now 24, the girl "that got away" in the 2005 BB. PILIPINAS BEauty Pageant, has just been fielded in by Gareth Blanco, this afternoon (5 pm, March 22nd) at Carousel Productions' head office as she heads on to finally continue her derailed quest for a national beauty title ... this time and hopefully for good, in this year's 2010 MISS PHILIPPINES EARTH Beauty Pageant. It was reported earlier on that it would be the younger sister, BB. PILIPINAS '10 semi-finalist Gwendoline who was to drop by at Carousel and enlist, but then, as it turned out, it was Gwennaelle. Life could be tricky and uncertain ... you can never tell... so they say... We wish Gwennaelle all the love and support she deserves! Photo courtesy of Chase Productions
